Masters in Commerce!, Mapusa, Goa

We now have students dominating their Master Degrees!
We now have students dominating their Master Degrees!

Saturday was a momentous day for Goa Outreach with our first long time student completing his Masters in Commerce with a final grade A.

Acchelal has been studying through Goa Outreach for the last 7 years after arriving in the area. When he first arrived in Goa he achieved just 57% during his 10th standard, but each year we helped him increase his grades and he received Distinctions for both 12th standard and his Bachelors in Commerce.

It has been a pleasure to help Acchelal through the years, he has always worked hard and has also been a great help to the charity providing his time and effort especially during the pandemic when he came to help us provide rations to hundreds of families around Mapusa, collecting and packing huge amounts of Rice, Dal and other dry rations.

His future is now the next part of his adventure; if there are any (preferably) local companies who want to take on a nearly graduated A´ grade MCom student who specialises in Accounts then please get in touch. He would be a great addition to any team.

Congratulations Acchelal!

School Captains, Mapusa, Goa

School Captains at Janata High School
School Captains at Janata High School

One of our girls proudly sent me these photos from her school as she and two others from Goa Outreach have become "Captains" at their school. Captains are similar to prefects/head girl or Boy and have extra responsibility to ensure good behavior from the children.

It is great to know that our children are excelling at school and I would like to congratulation them all. One of the boys is actually no longer with us but spent his younger years with us, his family situation improved and no longer required the help, so we sadly had to give his place to a more needy child. He was a favorite at the centre and we wish him and the others well. Congratulations to all three and the other students that are excelling at school.

Music Video Featuring Goa Outreach
Music Video Featuring Goa Outreach

In March this year we were contacted by a supporter who wanted us to be part of an upcoming Music Video for Lucky Ali. They. Goa Outreach would be one of a handful of guests to help celebrate 'Mohabbat Zindagi' - "Mohabbat Zindagi, literally means, Life is Love. It is the recognition and celebration of the small things that make our being. It is how we express our zest for life. Whether it is making a cup of tea, or feeding dogs, or using movement & dance, or simply breathe we can have infinite ways to embody our love. Our capacity to love is what keeps us alive. Mohabbat Zindagi invites you to bring intention into whatever you do, and enjoy it to the fullest. "

Thank you to everyone involved and of course the kids who took part.

Please take a look at the video...

Before the kids went back to school last week we were delighted to welcome a couple from the Makers Asylum Foundation who put on a workshop. The workshop was to highlight how we draw from Memory and Observation.

It was really fun and all the kids enjoyed, especially guessing who's picture was whose.

Thank you guys for your time, and the delicious cookies.
